LET’S CELEBRATE…

LET’S CELEBRATE….

This year's event will focus on the strength of our vibrant, diverse community and the impact of collective effort. We'll celebrate both inspiration and achievements reached through collaboration and partnership. We'll call to mind DBEDC's symbiotic relationship with the community, recognizing that we merely seek to help facilitate the success of strong people with endless potential. This year's event puts the community at the center of all we do and all we hope to achieve together.

2023 HONOREES

The Life Initiative (TLI)

In 1998, with insurance companies and dedicated community advocates at the table, the Life Initiative was created for the economic benefit of local disenfranchised communities.

Over the last 25 years TLI has committed over $700 million to projects that benefit low- and moderate-income communities and households throughout Massachusetts.  TLI has invested in 19,210  housing units, 1,908 permanent jobs, 11,253 construction jobs, 2,048 childcare spots, and 30 community facilities. TLI is proud to have supported Dorchester Bay over the past 20 years in its work in several projects creating transformative mixed-use and affordable housing developments throughout the Dorchester community.

VENUE DETAILS

Parking at UMass Boston

Ample on campus parking will be provided at the West Garage, which is a pleasant 6-10 minute walk to the Campus Center, depending on your pace. Parking fees vary with the length of your stay, with a maximum fee of $15.00. With your online event ticket purchase, you will be offered the option to request a parking voucher, which would waive the garage fee. Very limited parking is expected to be available directly under the Campus Center, so please allow these limited Campus Center spaces for those with mobility issues.

Click here for directions from the West Garage to the Campus Center.

Parking Vouchers will be available for all who request them with their online event registration. The physical vouchers will be handed out at the welcome/registration table the night of the event. When leaving with your vehicle for the evening, first use the ticket you received when you parked your car. Then follow with the voucher you received from Dorchester Bay to waive the parking fee.

We encourage carpooling or taking a rideshare!

UMass Boston is located less than a mile from JFK/UMass station. The campus is accessible by shuttle service or walking. To plan your trip to JFK/UMass station, please use the MBTA’s Trip Planner.

Important: If you are sharing a ride, please be sure that only one member of a carpooling group requests a voucher so we don't purchase more vouchers than necessary.

Covid-19 Policy

UMass Boston is a fully vaccinated campus. The University has conveyed to us that they expect that all guests are fully vaccinated, if eligible. At registration, you will be asked to indicate that you are in compliance with Covid-19 recommendations established by the county and state.

We are enthusiastically planning for an in-person event. However, in light of the ongoing pandemic, we must remain open to a potential move to a virtual platform if circumstances warrant it. In the case of a move to a virtual event, we will make every effort to provide comparable sponsorship benefits.
